Free Press is building the movement for better media in the United States.

We’re working to create media that inform and educate the American public, reflect our country’s diversity and serve the information needs of local communities. We want the American people -- not just big corporations and their high-priced lobbyists -- to have a say in crafting the policies that shape the media system.

For too long, media policy has been made behind closed doors in the public’s name but without our involvement or consent. The result is a bankrupt system that benefits giant corporations at the expense of everyday citizens and our need for diverse sources of news, information and viewpoints.
